logrono, la rioja
The 2025 European leg covered Logrono, Barcelona, Porto, Milan, and Madrid. Logrono sits in a different part of my memory because it was where the frisbee world championships happened, so it carries more weight than a normal travel stop. The city itself is unhurried and underrated, with old stone streets, warm evenings, and the Ebro River along the edge.
Barcelona gave me the version of itself I expected and still enjoyed. Milan felt sharper, colder, and more expensive than I had pictured, while Madrid was warm, loud, and easy to spend time in. Porto surprised me most, partly because I had no strong expectations going in and partly because the city kept giving me reasons to stay out longer.

porto
The Douro riverfront, the hand painted tiles, and the streets climbing up the hillside all made Porto feel good to walk through. Every turn seemed to give another angle back down to the water. I gave the city more time than I planned and never felt like it was too much.
